Bob Keselowski has passed

Keselowski is a former ARCA Menards Series champion and a land speed record holder

Bob Keselowski is an ARCA Menards Series champion driver who went on to race land speed machines. He has died at the age of 70.

Bob has two sons, Brian Keselowski and Brad Keselowski, both remain active in the sport. Brad recently became a part-owner of Roush Fenway Keselowksi Racing.

Bob was a 24-time race winner in the ARCA Menards Series. In 1995, the debut season for the NASCAR Truck Series, Bob raced a trucks. He grabbed a NASCAR Truck Series win in 1997 at Richmond Raceway in a family-owned truck which he co-owned with his brother.

In 2006, the truck team exited the sport.

His son, Brad Keselowski made it to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2008. He’s since picked up 35 wins over a 14-year career.

Bob took to the sand. He searched for land speed records in a Dodge Charger. In 2018, he set a record at the Bonneville Salt Flats at 271.8 mph over a 5-mile run.

In recent years, Bob was in a fight with Cancer. It was hard to tell as he remained in a race car, even this year. He set a class record at over 260 mph via Loring Air Force Base in Maine at age 69 last year.

Brian Keselowski: Sunday

The NASCAR community was made aware of Bob’s health earlier this week. Four days ago, Brian Keselowski posted the following note via twitter:

“It is with profound sadness and a broken heart to inform everyone that my dad, Bob Keselowski is nearling the end of his amazing, fast paced life,” Brian Keselowski said on Sunday.

“He has battled Cancer for the past 2 years and he fought the good fight as hard as he could.”

“Unfortunately, there isn’t much more fight left so my family and I are preparing ourselves and making sure dad is not in any pain until his time comes.”

He concluded on Sunday, “Please say a prayer and keep us in your thoughts during this very difficult time.”

Brad Keselowski comments

Brad Keselowski stated, “My dad will always be my hero. He was quiet and understated, but that didn’t change the impact he had on me or that I watched him have on everyone who knew him. I am forever grateful for what I learned from this man, and I will remember him every day.”

Brian Keselowski on the death of his father

Brian Keselowski tweeted, “Got the chance to go with my dad a couple times this year to watch him drive his car.”

“We never thought we would be here still after 2 1/2 years of fighting this. Still losing him isn’t easy knowing it’s coming, but I’m so glad I took the opportunity when I had the chance to do it.”


NASCAR Community comments

NASCAR stated, “Bob Keselowski was a true racer whose determination and love of the sport embodied the NASCAR and ARCA spirit. He worked tirelessly to build his family-owned team, doing whatever it took to compete. Our thoughts are with the Keselowski family during this difficult time.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr said, “His is an awesome story of what hard work, dedication, and persistence can achieve. He fought a hard fight till the end. I know he must be so proud of all that his family has accomplished.”

Kelley Earnhardt stated, “He was a good man. Always respected him. Prayers for your family. And these pics you shared make my heart smile.”
