Ross Chastain responds to Kevin Harvick on his contract situation

“He got out of the driver’s seat and decided he wanted to talk as much now as he ever has.”

When is Ross Chastain’s contract up? He’s set to drive for Trackhouse Racing through the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season.

That’s the same deadline for all three Trackhouse Racing drivers. Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch all have expiring contracts at the conclusion of 2027. That’s not typical for a team to do.

Recently, it was announced that Zilisch will depart the team at the conclusion of his contract. He’s heading to Hendrick Motorsports.

Kevin Harvick stated via the ‘Happy Hour’ podcast, “SVG, he’s locked in at Trackhouse, next year. Connor Zilisch leaving, I think that puts the Chastain situation in question as far as whether he stays or goes at Trackhouse.”

Chastain has run 286 NASCAR Cup Series races. He’s picked up six wins along the way with his most recent in 2026.

“That’s a long ways away,” Ross Chastain stated of his contract.

“It’s the way our sport goes. People are going to start talking about it. And, that’s why Kevin’s on a podcast. He wants to do that kinda stuff.”

“He got out of the driver’s seat and decided he wanted to talk as much now as he ever has.”

“Right now, that’s for everybody else to talk about. We’re focused on the No. 1 car.”

Chastain has raced full-time for Trackhouse Racing since the 2022 season.
