NASCAR issues 7 penalties after the VSCU 300 at Martinsville Speedway
Over the weekend, Late Model Stock Car drivers raced at Martinsville Speedway. The ValleyStar Credit Union 300 is one of the biggest races of the year.
Tensions were high. There were multiple fights throughout the day at the half-mile Virginia track.
One of them included two time NASCAR Cup Series winner Corey Heim who was attacked by crew members as he walked to the hauler.

Just days prior to this, the NASCAR CEO stated that they didn’t want crew members fighting drivers. They are more okay with driver on driver altercations. But, this is also ruled on a case by case basis as well.

Denny Hamlin is the co-owner of 23XI Racing. The team recently signed Corey Heim to run full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2027. He called on NASCAR to issue suspensions in bulk.

That’s confirmed as NASCAR has elected to drop the hammer.
Seven penalties have been issued and two are suspended indefinitely including Chad Bryant and Steven Civatarese.
In total, $5,000 in fines have been issued, which is significant for a NASCAR Regional event. Bryant was fined the most of all at $2,000.
