On Saturday night, Martinsville Speedway hosted the ValleyStar Credit Union 300. The race is one of the biggest Late Model Stock Car races of the year.
NASCAR Cup Series driver Corey Heim jumped the field. And he was racing for the win on the half-mile short track in Virginia.

With 10 laps to go in the 200 lap race, Treyten Lapcevich shoved Corey Heim out of the way for 2nd. However, a caution with just five laps to go sent the race into overtime and re-racked the field for a restart.
On the overtime restart, Heim leaned on the bumper of Lapcevich. He took 2nd away and the race was over.
After the finish, Lapcevich pinched down on Heim into turn one. With Heim on the inside curb he had nowhere to go but over the front wheel of Lapcevich.
Lapcevich sat crashed on the track after the finish line.
As drivers climbed from their cars, Lapcevich was looking like he was walking toward Heim to have a chat. He was stopped and nothing came of it.
However, Heim was then met by a mob of crew members at the hot dog stand. He was punched by one. Another threw a punch, missed and hit the hotdog menu.

This race is sanctioned by the NASCAR Local Racing Series. The NASCAR CEO stated just days ago that they didn’t want crew members involved. The suspensions should be handed out in mass on this one.
