Corey Heim was jumped after the late model race at Martinsville Speedway
Over the weekend, the NASCAR Local Racing Series hosted a huge event with 90 cars at Martinsville Speedway.
Corey Heim was attacked at the Late Model Stock Car feature after contact while racing for 2nd. He was rushed by a mob of crew members.

Heim was punched several times. Other punches missed completely and famously hit a hot dog sign.

Denny Hamlin is the co-owner of 23XI Racing. He recently signed Heim to race full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series starting next year.
Hamlin is calling on NASCAR to issue lengthy suspensions…
Denny Hamlin calls on NASCAR to issue a penalty
“Those (expletive) cowards waited on Corey Heim to leave his car and leave his team and then jump him while he was on the way to the hauler,” Denny Hamlin stated via Actions Detrimental.
“I don’t know who’s in charge of NASCAR Regional. But, there is absolutely no way that any of those guys should be in a pit lane for the next year, at least.”
“And, I want them to say publicly what they do to them. And if it’s nothing… I will have a major problem.”
“None of those cowards should be in a pit lane in the foreseeable future. He said to them, ‘I’m not trying to fight!’ “
“They gotta get control of the whole Martinsville thing. Because it’s spiraling out of control. And, I don’t know who’s in charge of it but they gotta do better.”
Hamlin was referencing the other fight from earlier in the day with his last comment. That fight ended with a driver walking away with blood rushing from his nose.
