Phoenix test results for the NASCAR Next Gen car
Today, the NASCAR Cup Series unloaded in Phoenix, Arizona. The 1-mile track is hosting the final week of testing ahead of the early February season opener.

Tuesday’s test session is the first of two. Teams will return on Wednesday, for the final day of testing with the new car.
The NASCAR Next Gen car is a brand new spec chassis. The cars are now identical from team to team, including frames and parts.
Short Track Rules Package: 670 target horsepower with a 4-inch spoiler.
Next Gen makes it’s debut in early February at the LA Coliseum. That will be the first official race with the new chassis.
So far, we’ve learned this car is harder to drive at previous tests. That theory continued today as Kyle Busch spun on his own in turn four.
