LA Clash Heat Race Results: February 6, 2022 (NASCAR Cup Series)

Los Angeles Coliseum heat race results

Tonight, NASCAR unloads in Los Angeles, California for the 150-lap Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum. Now, four heat races are on deck on the 1/4-mile oval with just four drivers transferring into the main event from each race. Drivers that fail to advance out of the heat races directly will be sent into last chance qualifier races.

Yesterday, cars took to the track for qualifying. Results from time trials have been used to set the starting lineups for today’s heat races.

Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez set the front row in heat one. 25 laps are up next…

Green flag, Kyle Busch leads into turn one. Suarez holds 2nd on the outside and he dives to the inside.

Lap 9, Suarez has closed to a car length off the bumper of Busch in the battle for the lead. Hamlin gets loose on corner entry and skates up the track. Stenhouse Jr works inside of Hamlin to take 3rd away.

7 to go, Ryan Blaney gets into the bumper of Hamlin! He pushes him up the track and takes 4th away.

1 to go, Blaney works under Stenhouse Jr for 3rd. Hamlin closes to the bumper of both but he can’t get to them.

Tyler Reddick and Cole Custer set the front row. 25 more laps are up next…

Green, Custer runs wide off turn two! He drops several positions as they take him three wide. Reddick leads the field into turn three as Harrison Burton takes over 2nd.

Lap 5, Bubba Wallace puts the bumper to Burton and takes 2nd away.

Lap 9, Chase Briscoe has a run off turn two on Wallace. He clears him into turn three, Briscoe to 2nd. Briscoe is down shifting into each corner.

Lap 15, Austin Dillon leans on the bumper of Wallace. He works inside and takes 3rd away.

7 to go, Custer gives a light bumper to Wallace. He works inside and takes 4th away.

Justin Haley and Chase Elliott lead them to the flag in heat three. Another 25 lap heat is next…

Green flag, Haley and Elliott run even into turn one and off turn two. Elliott hangs with him on the outside. Haley finally clears him as Elliott is stuck on the outside and falls to 3rd.

Lap 4, Elliott remains stuck on the outside lane. Christopher Bell works inside to takes 3rd, Elliott falls from the front row to 4th.

Lap 13, Harvick puts the bumper to Buescher for 6th.

10 to go, Haley leads as the top four run nose to tail.

Joey Logano and Kyle Larson lead them to the starting line in the fourth and final heat of the weekend. 25 more laps of short track racing are up next…

Green flag, Logano leads into turn one. Larson cuts to the bottom off turn two to defend and hold 2nd.

Lap 7, Ryan Preece is all over the bumper of Austin Cindric in the battle for the final transfer.

Lap 8, Ty Dillon slows and the caution is out.

Green, Logano is clear into turn one. McDowell works inside of Larson off turn two and they run side by side. Preece pushes Erik Jones into Cindric and Cindric gets pushed out of line and falls to 6th.

Lap 10, Kurt Busch gets into the back of Cassill and shoves him into Cindric. Cindric spins and the caution is back out.

Green, Logano and Larson run even into turn one, Logano clears him off turn two. McDowell follows him through and takes 2nd away.

Lap 13, Larson works inside of McDowell for 2nd, Larson completes that pass. Austin Cindric is charging to the front as he climbs back to 5th.

Joey Logano cruises to the win in the final heat race of the night!
