Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 60 (1-60 / 188)

Green flag, Truex Jr stalls his start to let Bell drop ahead of him to the lead the inside lane into turn one.

Lap 5, Suarez and Bell run side by side for the lead at the front of the field.

Lap 9, a third line has formed on the outside. Suarez pulls up to block that lane as they have the momentum. Suarez is pushed to the lead, he drops to the inside to pilot that lane. Hamlin, Wallace and Kyle Busch drop to the rear as they suffer handling issues.

Lap 33, Tyler Reddick is on the pit lane with the hood up and an engine issue.

Pit Penalty: Ross Chastain has been caught speeding and will serve a pass through.

Lap 38, the pit cycle is complete. Kyle Larson cycles to the lead with Byron and Elliott on his bumper.

9 to go in stage one, Bubba Wallace pulls even via the outside lane with Kyle Larson. McDowell and Chastain nearly cause a wreck as the lap cars take up two lanes ahead of the leaders. Larson splits through them and Wallace takes over the lead.

7 to go, Byron pushes Larson back even with Wallace, side by side for the lead.

4 to go, Daniel Hemric gets turned to the apron as he checks up with an issue! He comes back up the hill as Briscoe and Buescher both slam into him. The caution is out.

Bubba Wallace wins stage 1 under caution at Talladega Superspeedway!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 60 (61-120 / 188)

Wallace leads them to the pit entry but he has a slow stop. Larson wins the race to the pit exit. Issues for Bell and Hamlin with extra slow stops.

Pit Penalty: Kyle Busch had equipment fall out of his box and drops to the back.

Green flag on stage two, Larson is clear into turn one. Bubba Wallace pushes Erik Jones even with Larson on the outside lane into turn three.

Lap 70, Jones is pushed clear to the lead. He drops to the inside lane.

Greg Biffle stalls with an issue, caution.

Larson leads the field to the pit entry. Byron wins the race to the pit exit.

Green, Byron is clear into turn one was Elliott on his bumper. BJ McLeod spins with a lost wheel, caution.

Green, Logano gets shoved out of line by Bubba Wallace and into the outside wall into turn one! Logano bounces off the wall, back across the track and 5+ cars are collected. Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Austin Cindric, Daniel Suarez, Ty Dillon, Harrison Burton and others pick up heavy damage.

Lap 106

Lap 106, Cody Ware is in the wall with a flat tire, caution.

Green, Byron leads teammates Elliott, Larson and Bowman on the inside lane.

5 to go in stage two, the top 10 run single file around the inside lane.

3 to go in stage two, Chastain leads a charge on the outside lane. They’re up to 8th but struggling to fight the inside lane.

1 to go in stage two, Martin Truex Jr jumps to the top from 5th but he can’t get to the front.

William Byron wins stage two at Talladega Superspeedway!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 68 (121-188 / 188)

Erik Jones wins the race to the pit exit with two tires. 7 others take fuel only or two tires. Larson is off 9th, the first with four tires.

Green flag on stage three, Kyle Busch gets the jump on the outside with a push from Ryan Blaney.

Lap 128, Bubba Wallace pushes Blaney to the lead on the outside lane.

37 to go, Bubba Wallace and Kyle Busch pull off the bumper of Blaney and head for the top. Wallace to the lead.

Pit cycle

27 to go, Christopher Bell and Kyle Busch tangle leaving the pit lane! Busch turned left across his nose, spinning Bell, no caution.

26 to go, The green flag pit cycle is complete. Hamlin leads Larson and Jones as the top 20 run single file around the inside.

18 to go, Larson has a push from Jones and they look to the outside. Hamlin is hung out to dry on the inside lane and he falls to 6th.

12 to go, the outside lane has formed. Larson attempts a block but Erik Jones pulls alongside. Soon after, the outside lane fades, Larson leads.

6 to go, Jones pulls back even with Larson.

4 to go, bumper to bumper from the front to the back, two lanes.

3 to go, Byron pushes Jones clear. Jones drops to the inside lane with Larson on his bumper. Hamlin is out of fuel behind them.

1 to go, the top 10 run single file around the inside lane.

Larson backs off the bumper of Jones in turn three. Larson looks to the outside of Jones through the tri-oval, he shoves Kurt Busch into the wall! Jones tries to block. Ross Chastain stays on the bottom and drive by all of them.

Ross Chastain wins at Talladega Superspeedway!
