NASCAR viewership compared to the NBA and NHL playoffs
NASCAR was on track in two different states last weekend. The NASCAR Cup Series and Truck Series races at WWT Raceway in St. Louis. Meanwhile, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race on the road course of Portland International Raceway.

Saturday’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Gateway was seen by 663,000 on average. Meanwhile, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Portland on the same day was seen by 824,000.
On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series made their debut on WWT Raceway at Gateway. The race ran into overtime with a thrilling finish. 2,502,000 people saw the race on average with a rating of 1.47.
For comparison, the NHRA event at Epping brought 697,000 viewers. The Indycar race in Detroit brought 354,000.
The NBA Playoffs won the weekend in sports as 11,911,000 tuned in to Sunday’s Boston vs Golden State game. Thursday’s game brought 11,400,000 in the same series.
Additionally, one NHL Playoff game topped the Cup race. The New York Rangers vs Carolina Hurricanes brought 2,790,000 viewers on Monday.
