Indycar results from St. Louis
Tonight, the Indycar Series unloads just across the river from Downtown St. Louis, Missouri. WWT Raceway is set to host a night of open wheel oval racing in Madison, Illinois.

Will Power and Marcus Ericsson set tghe front row. 260 laps of short track racing are up next…
Green flag, Power gets the jump as Ericsson tucks in under his gearbox to hold 2nd into turn one.
Lap 40, Power has caught the tail of the field.
Lap 60, Power and many of the leaders hit the pit lane on the same lap. Power cycles back to the lead as McLaughlin takes 2nd away and O’Ward takes 3rd. McLaughlin pitted two lap earlier than Ericsson.
Lap 91, Pato O’Ward has a run on McLaughlin into turn three. Ericsson shuts the door and O’Ward loses the nose in dirty air. O’Ward runs wide and Newgarden takes 3rd away. O’Ward quickly retakes 3rd.
Lap 123, Alexander Rossi has stalled the engine as he enters the pit lane. The team struggles to refire.
Lap 125, Power and McLaughlin pit at the same time. They exit the pits nose to tail, Power holds the lead.
Lap 144, Jack Harvey is in the wall after cathcing the marbles and the caution is out.
Sato is the current leader as Power is 2nd. Sato has yet to pit but he pits under the yellow and hands the lead back to Power. Meanwhile, Newgarden and McLaughlin return to the pits for another fresh set. McLaughlin will restart 6th with the freshest tires of the leaders.
Green, Power leads O’Ward and Ericsson into turn one. O’Ward looks to the outside and he’s there! They run side by side for the lead off turn two! O’Ward takes over the lead via the outside lane!
Lap 164, Newgarden has climbed to 3rd and he driven right by Power to take 2nd away.
Lap 165, Newgarden isn’t done as he has a run on O’Ward off turn four. Newgarden heads to the outside in turn one and he drives right by! With ease as Newgarden has slightly fresher tires.
Lap 186, Newgarden leads McLaughlin by 5.4 seconds. Newgarden and McLaughlin have flipped the strategy on the field.
Lap 207, Newgarden pits from the race lead. Newgarden is held up by the lap car of Lungaard as he enters the pit lane!
McLaughlin cycles out ahead of Newgarden!
Lap 215, the caution is out for moisture. Rain has been on the way. As it rains harder, the red flag is out.
Several hours later, this race is set to resume. Dixon and many others hit the pit lane.
Green, McLaughlin leads Newgarden. Newgarden has a run off turn two, Newgarden dives to the inside and takes the race lead!
30 to go, David Malukas works to the outside of Power for 4th. He takes the spot away.
17 to go, Malukas has a run on O’Ward off turn two. He dives inside and takes 3rd away! This would be a career best for Malukas as he has 28 lap fresher tires than O’Ward.
15 to go, Newgarden leads McLaughlin by 0.6 seconds.
10 to go, Newgarden leads McLaughlin by 0.5 seconds. David Malukas has caught both of them!
5 to go, the three leaders run nose to tail. Malukas has the fastest car but he’s in dirty air.
1 to go, Malukas works outside of McLaughlin into turn one! He takes 2nd away.
Josef Newgarden holds them off to win at World Wide Technology Raceway!
