Indycar starting grid for WWT Raceway in St Louis
Tomorrow, the NTT Indycar Series takes the green flag in Madison, Illinois for the WWT Raceway 500. Today, the field rolls to the 1.25-mile oval of WWT Raceway for a round of qualifying.

Each car is allowed two warmup laps. Then, two timed laps. The average time of two consecutive timed laps will be used as the official time in qualifying.
Flix Rosenqvist spins off turn two on his opening timed lap. He goes for a long slide toward the infield wall, the tires explod and he lightly makes contact with the infield tire barrier.
Josef Newgarden messed up on his opening lap of qualifying. He made a chassis adjustment via the steering wheel and improved by 2mph on lap two. An average speed of 181.629 over two laps but he narrowly missed the pole.
Will Power will start from the pole position after an average speed of 182.727 over two laps.
