The same day, Elliott went into surgery at The Steadman Clinic, a U.S. Olympic National Medical Center in Vail, Colorado. For the next few weeks, Elliott remained in Colorado during rehab.

Josh Berry and Jordan Taylor filled in for the injured driver.

Toward the end of March, the 27-year-old returned home to Georgia and continued his rehabilitation steps.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Elliott ran through simulation tests via the Chevrolet simulator.

Now, he’s ready to return. Elliott will drive the No. 9 car this weekend at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia.

“See y’all at Martinsville,” Chase Elliott tweeted Wednesday.

Most importantly, Chase Elliott has been granted a waiver from NASCAR to compete in the playoffs.
