Two teams penalized ahead of the race at WWT Raceway at Gateway

This weekend, the NASCAR Cup Series is racing near St. Louis, Missouri. WWT Raceway at Gateway, the 1.25-mile oval is hosting the show.

NASCAR Cup teams haven’t touched the track for practice or qualifying. However, teams unloaded for inspection on Friday night.

The No. 6 team driven by Brad Keselowski and the No. 12 driven by Ryan Blaney each failed pre-qualifying inspection, twice. Per the rules, the RFK Racing and Team Penske teams will have a crew member ejected.

Both cars were able to pass on their third attempt through the inspection line.

No Penalty

2 Failures
Crew member of NASCAR’s choosing ejected (crew member cannot be replaced). Additionally, the team loses pit selection.

3 Failures
Not permitted to qualify plus above penalty.
