Race Report – Stage 1

Laps: 130 (1-130 / 500)

Green, Truex Jr leads the field off turn two. Hamlin clears Gibbs for 2nd.

Lap 50, Truex Jr works heavy lap traffic and Hamlin has closed to his bumper. Hamlin dives inside of Truex into turn three, Hamlin takes the lead away.

Lap 80, the track is taking a lot of rubber due to a softer tires. Many drivers have moved off the bottom lane and are finding speed in the outside groove.

Lap 104, Alex Bowman leans on the bumper of Harrison Burton, shoving him off the bottom. Burton turns into the door of Bowman and they both spin out. The caution is out.

Green, Hamlin leads as Ryan Blaney takes 2nd away.

Hamlin wins stage one at Martinsville Speedway!

Race Report – Stage 2

Laps: 130 (131-260 / 500)

Green flag on stage two, Hamlin leads Blaney off turn two.

Lap 156, Chastain shoves the bumper of Tyler Reddick. Laps later, Austin Dillon shoves Reddick. Reddick shoves him back but Dillon shoves him once more. It’s bumper tag toward the tail of the lead lap.

Lap 194, Blaney has caught the bumper of Hamlin. Blaney drives it deep into turn one, works to the right rear and they run side by side off turn two. Blaney clears him with an outside pass and takes the lead away.

Lap 216, Ryan Newman is turned off turn four with help from Christopher Bell, caution.

Blaney leads the field to the pit lane. Hamlin wins the race to the pit exit.

Pit Penalty: Martin Truex Jr will drop to the rear after speeding on the pit lane.

Green, Hamlin clears Blaney into turn one. As they return to turn one, Blaney shoves the bumper of Hamlin. Hamlin shoves him back and retakes the lead.

Lap 230, Blaney dives inside and clears him. Blaney throws a block into turn three, Blaney holds the lead.

Race Report – Stage 3

Laps: 240 (261-500 / 500)

Green flag on stage three, Blaney clears Hamlin off turn two. Hamlin attempts to cross under him but clips Blaney in the right rear and Blaney nearly spins. Blaney holds him off and keeps the lead.

Lap 274, Ty Gibbs throws a block into turn three. Logano shoves him clear into the corner and Gibbs is around. Daniel Suarez and Brad Keselowski are collected, caution.

Lap 303, Ty Gibbs is around once more as Carson Hocevar turns into his right rear and hooks him, caution.

Lap 323, Michael McDowell is around with help from Erik Jones, caution.

Blaney leads the field to the pit lane. Almirola and Larson take fuel only. Chase Elliott and Corey LaJoie stay out.

Green, Elliott runs LaJoie wide into turn one. They rub doors for the lead. Several laps later, Elliott finally clears him.

90 to go, Almirola dives inside of Elliott in the battle for the lead. Almirola runs him wide and takes the lead away.

50 to go, Almirola leads Elliott by 4.4 seconds.

32 to go, Blaney has climbed to 2nd. Almirola leads by just 1.4 seconds.

23 to go, Blaney is on the bumper of Almirola. Blaney drives it deep into turn one on the outside. Blaney completes the pass via the outside lane!
