Devin Moran, Kyle Bronson suspended from DIRTcar events

Two penalties issued following a dirt late model race at Volusia Speedway Park

DIRTcar Racing has issued a fine and suspension to two drivers following dirt late model tire tests. Both Kyle Bronson and Devin Moran are suspended from DIRTcar sanctioned events for 30 days.

In both cases, tire samples from the machines after a race at Volusia Speedway Park failed to meet benchmarks. The tests are conducted by an independent lab.

Earlier today, Bobby Pierce was also included in a penalty report regarding tire samples. However, he’s been suspended from all World Racing Group competition.

Kyle Bronson suspension

Kyle Bronson failed a tire test after an event on February 13, 2024, at Volusia Speedway Park.

Bronson has been fined $1,000. He’ll also pay a $400 tire analysis bill and lose $2,000 in prize money. The total of the fine is $3,400.

Additionally, Bronson is suspended from all DIRTcar Racing sanctioned events for 30 days.

Devin Moran suspension

Devin Moran also failed the tire sample test following the same event on February 13, 2024, at Volusia Speedway Park.

Moran has been fined $1,000. He’ll also pay a $400 tire analysis bill and lose $9,000 in prize money. The total of the fine is $10,400.

Additionally, Moran is also suspended from all DIRTcar Racing sanctioned events for 30 days.


Chapter 1 Section 7 Penalties and Fine Schedules

U. Any member that attempts and/or is found to be using tires that are found to be illegal in any manner will be subject to disqualification and/or fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points and/or any other action deemed appropriate by World Racing Group Supervisory Officials.

V. The minimum penalty for any tire that doesn’t meet the benchmark will be as follows:

a. Disqualification from the event and;

b. A fine up to 1,000 championship and track points and;

c. Return of all earned purse and/or reward money from the event and;

d. A fine up to equal the purse money awarded for the event with a minimum fine of $2,000 and;

e. A minimum suspension of 1-month minimum or 4 races, up to six (6) months in duration and;

f. Any cost incurred for testing

g. The penalty including fine, and suspension may include the driver, crew chief, the car and car owner as stated in the penalty notice.

Chapter 3 Technical Rules, Section 11-C

f. Chemical alterations, vulcanizing, tire softening, defacing, and/or altering the face of the tire lettering and/or tire stamping will not be permitted. Chemicals or tire softening is not permitted at any time.
