NASCAR community mourns the passing of Bob Labonte
Bob Labonte has passed. He was the father to Terry Labonte and Bobby Labonte.
Bob was a co-owner of Labonte Motorsports. He also served as the crew chief for the entry.
The team opened in 1982 and ran full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The team claimed 21 race wins and 2 series championships.
On Tuesday, Bobby Labonte announced that his father had passed. He was 90 years old.

“This week, Terry and I lost our Dad,” Bobby Labonte opened via X.
“To many of you who knew him around the garage, you know he was larger than life. To us he was our Dad and also a crew chief, a mentor, our biggest fan, our motivation at times, and our hero. He and our Mom dedicated their lives to our racing careers and to our family.”
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our Dad, although we know he is in a far better place. We thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.”
