Watch as RV’s are trapped underwater at Huset’s Speedway
The World of Outlaws were hosting a huge sprint car race at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, SD. On Thursday, the event finale was postponed to Sunday.

On Friday, the race was further postponed due to weather. Many RV’s were still on the grounds after the postponement. However, the weather was rolling in.
Very quickly, flash flooding filled the grounds. Multiple trailers and RV’s were trapped in the water.
Many fans were taken above water to the track tower.
Minnehaha County Water Rescue was dispatched to help with rescue efforts. Additionally, Split Rock, Brandon and Valley Springs Fire Departments are responded to the track as well.
Huset’s Speedway announcement
The track posted the following update at 1pm on Friday:
“Following severe flooding and with weather models showing more rain throughout the weekend, the remainder of the BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by MENARDS is postponed.”
World of Outlaws statement
“With heavy rain over the past 36 hours at Huset’s Speedway causing severe flooding and weather models projecting more rain through the weekend, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car and track officials have agreed to postpone the remainder of the BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by Menards week. The decision comes with the safety of teams and fans in mind.”
“Series and track officials plan to work together in the coming days on finding a viable makeup date and plan to release more details regarding the event and ticketing.”
The event is one of the biggest World of Outlaws races of the year. It pays $250,000 to win.
