Sharon Speedway now has an ownership group including Ryan Blaney, Dave Blaney and Will Thomas III
Sharon Speedway is a 3/8-mile dirt track located in Hartford Township, Ohio. It first opened in 1929.
The track has hosted famed dirt racing series including the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, World of Outlaws Late Models, All Star Circuit of Champions, Super DIRTcar Series, and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Ahead of the 2025 season, NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Blaney has joined the ownership group. The track has long been owned by the Blaney family but this marks the first time Ryan joins that ownership group.
The track is the oldest continuously operated family-owned dirt track in the country. Their are now heading into the 96th anniversary of operations.
Dave Blaney purchased the track in 2002. He made the purchase with business partners Jim Weller, Sr, along with Bill and Ron Kirila. The track went through a reconfiguration under new ownership.
Back in January Weller, Sr passed. Last month, Ron Kirila also passed.
Dave Blaney will remain as one of the three owners. The former World of Outlaws champion has 95 WoO wins. At Sharon Speedway, Blaney has 40 total race wins.
Fellow racer Will Thomas III is the third co-owner heading into the new season. The 49-year-old is also the owner of Colonial Metal Products and Colonial Slitting Industries
Dave Willoughby has been the general manager of the facility for 16 years and he’ll keep that role for the 2025 season.
Sharon Speedway will open their 2025 season on Saturday, May 10.
