Bubba Wallace almost hit can thrown by NASCAR fan at Indianapolis (Video)

Watch as the race leader almost struck a can that a NASCAR fan tossed onto the track on the final lap of the Brickyard 400

On Sunday, NASCAR raced in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Brickyard 400 is a crown-jewel race for the NASCAR Cup Series.

The green flag dropped on the NASCAR overtime. Into turn one, Bubba Wallace cleared Kyle Larson via the inside.

A fan then tossed a can over the fence and onto the front stretch.

Heading to the white flag, the can was sitting in the middle of the track. NASCAR didn’t throw the caution. As Bubba Wallace rolled by with the race lead, he swerved in an attempt to break the draft to Kyle Larson. In doing so, he came just inches from the can.

The air from the car alone was enough to toss the can around on the track.

After narrowly missing the can, Wallace went around to complete the final lap and grab the checkered flag. He snapped a lengthy winless streak.

With the win, The No. 23 team is now locked into the NASCAR Playoffs. And they’re doing it as an Open team as the courts recently stripped 23XI Racing of their charter status.

Wallace stated after the win, “How many days since my last win? That’s right. Zero.”

This is far from the first time that fans have tossed cans onto the track. However, in previous situations, they have usually been tossed at the race winner during celebrations, after the checkered flag.
