On Sunday, NASCAR raced on the 1.5-mile of Kansas Speedway.

In NASCAR Overtime, it all went wrong. John Hunter Nemechek tagged the left rear of Zane Smith entering turn three.

Nemechek then shoved Smith up the track and into the wall. Smith climbed the wall and rode on his door at nearly 200mph.

As the car lost speed, it tumbled off the wall. Smith rolled back to his wheels.

Nemechek and Josh Berry both slammed the wall.

NASCAR threw the red flag. The AMR safety team was on sight in seconds.

Smith climbed from the car on his own. He’s currently being taken to the infield medical center for a mandatory evaluation.

Zane Smith comments after the crash

Just moments later, Smith was released from the care center.

“That was a wild ride, no doubt,” Zane Smith told USA Network.

“Before I knew it, I mean, I had a decent restart going. And then, I mean, I just get wrecked by the No. 42. Just drives though me.”

“I was sliding on the wall. And, I was just mad at that point.”

“Then, just pissed me off even more. Because that’s what really hurt, just flipping down the track.”

“Violent, no doubt. Just a bummer.”

“Right before that caution came out, we were going to have a top-10 day. It’s a shame that it has to come to an end that way.”

The race has since concluded.
