NASCAR lawsuit opened by 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports

After almost a year of court dates, the official trial began today. The jury has been selected with 6 men and three women.

Today, there was a range of interesting information presented during opening statements…

Front Row Motorsports owner Bob Jenkins says he’s lost $60M with his NASCAR operation in the last 10 years. He further added that he’s lost $100M since getting involved in NASCAR.

FRM has collected three race wins in the last 10 seasons. The team has been around since 2004.

During the testimony, Denny Hamlin stated that 23XI Racing pays $8M per year for the alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing. That’s $2.66M per car.

Hamlin also noted that 11 of the 19 original charter teams no longer exist.

The judge has already ruled that NASCAR has a monopoly on stock car racing. Now, the jury is set to determine if NASCAR used anti-competitive practices to build it.
