He’ll race at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California
7-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is returning to the NASCAR Truck Series in 2026. TriCon Garage will field the No. 1 truck in the race in San Diego.

The paint scheme brings in elements from paint scheme’s of Johnson’s past. For example, the base design stems from Johnson’s only other Truck Series start at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Additionally, before Johnson made the switch to NASCAR, he was racing off-road trucks. The lightning bolt stems from that era of his career.
The team has also launched a line of merch ahead of the event.
“Growing up just miles from San Diego, I dreamed about racing here in a NASCAR vehicle someday, but I never thought it would be possible,” Jimmie Johnson stated via the previous team release.
The race at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026.
