Carson Hocevar celebrated his first NASCAR win at Talladega Superspeedway by riding on the door of his car
After 78 years of NASCAR, a new way to celebrate a win was created by Carson Hocevar. After his win on Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway, Hocevar brought the fans out of their seats.
Hocevar jumped onto the door of his car. And with long legs, he reached for the pedals, riding by the grandstands as he sat on the door of the car.
Carson Hocevar explained, “I was sitting on the door and I couldn’t twist my foot around the seat with the steering wheel on. I had the wheel off, I dropped the clutch and I was hustling to get the wheel on. I just kinda idled for me,” Carson Hocevar stated.
“As I felt more comfortable riding on the door then I started giving it gas. … I soaked every bit of it in, I think I could tell you what everybody was wearing.”
“I was really worried about how I was going to hit the wall and do the burnout against it. But, it wasn’t that hard of a hit.”

NASCAR says they don’t plan to ban the celebration
It was quickly speculated that NASCAR wouldn’t like this celebration. It was assumed that an immediate ban would be in place. On Monday, NASCAR spoke on the celebration but they give it a thumbs up…
“100%,” Steve O’Donnell confirmed of a thumbs up for the celebration when speaking to Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.
“The only thing, I would put a little asterisk on is I tell him, ‘Try not to hit the wall man.’ That was the only thing that was like, ‘uh oh.’ “
“It was one of the cooler celebrations to see the fans react to what he did. Iconic moment, perfect for Talladega.”
“Proud of him for staying after it. I know he’s gone through some things. Really cool moment for the sport.”
