Denny Hamlin said there were no adults in the room at Spire Motorsports amid drama with Carson Hocevar
“We’re serious enough to [be sued].”
Carson Hocevar crashed Brad Keselowski in the last NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway. After the incident, he downplayed it saying, “He spun.”

Keselowski issued a warning to Hocevar. He noted that the driver had one coming.
Fellow team owner, Denny Hamlin blamed Spire Motorsports. He called the team an, “unserious organization” and added that there were, “no adults in the room.”

Joe Gibbs Racing, the team that Hamlin currently drives for has an open lawsuit against Spire Motorsports and Chris Gabehart. Gabehart was the competition director at JGR before taking a job with Spire.
JGR claims that Gabehart stole trade secrets from JGR and brought them to Spire. A nine-day jury trial will begin on February 1, 2027.

Jeff Dickerson responds to Denny Hamlin saying Spire Motorsports is unserious
“We’re serious enough to sue,” Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson stated via Dirty Mo Media referring to the lawsuit JGR opened against them.
“No (expletive), Denny’s going to say something like that. What do you want me to say. I mean, they’re suing us.”
“If anybody thinks I’m going to come on this show and say, ‘Denny doesn’t know what he’s talking about.’ That’s not going to occur.”
“Denny knows absolutely what he’s talking about. I can tell you how I took it. I took it as a warning.”
“Denny knows what it looks like when you don’t confront things like this. I mean, we ended up with Chris Gabehart because of things like this. Denny lived it.”
Gabehart left JGR to join Spire.
“The situation at Loudon when their own internal situations came to a head. He publicly challenged Coach Gibbs, ‘Are you going to talk to him? Are you guys afraid to talk to him?’ That’s essentially what he’s saying to me.”
Hamlin crashed Ty Gibbs at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Hamlin then asked JGR leadership to get involved.

“I think Denny’s got a PHD in this. I’m not going to have what happened at JGR happen to Spire. Now, he could have text me that.”
“But, however he sends me the message. Denny, message delivered, buddy.”
Hocevar has already responded to the comments from Hamlin. He addressed a letter to his fans directly.
