Lee Pulliam suffers a brake failure and he’s unable to make a qualifying run. NASCAR officials require teams to use the brakes at the end of the pit lane before turning a lap. Pulliam hit the brakes and they didn’t work so he’s not allowed to make a run.
Corey Day has lost an engine. The team will pull the engine out of the backup car and put it into the primary. Day will not make a run in Round 2 of qualifying.
Jesse Love will start from the pole position in today’s race. He turned a laptime at 52.435 seconds in the final round of NASCAR qualifying.
