Throwback 276 at Hickory Motor Speedway brings the throwback theme to short track racing
It’s no longer just NASCAR with a throwback weekend. As of tonight, short track racing is engraving their own throwback weekend into the calendars of racing fans.

The Throwback 276 takes place tonight in Hickory, NC. 150 miles from Darlington Raceway.
Hickory Motor Speedway is a .363 mile circuit. It features 14 degrees of support in the corner.
Featured throwback paint schemes; Richard Petty, Dale Jarrett, Cole Trickle/Kyle Petty, Rowdy Burns, Dick Trickle, Rusty Wallace, Alan Kulwicki, Weddell Wilson, Harry Gant, Ned Jarrett, Robert Huffman, Robert Pressley, Jack Ingram, Dennis Setzer and more.
How did they inspire all the teams to get on board with this show? They simply offered incentives in the form of dollar amounts.
Hickory Throwback bonus awards include; $1,000 to the ‘Best Appearing Throwback Car’, $250 to the ‘Most Historic Appearing Team’, $100 ‘Open Trailer Bonus’
The Throwback 276 is a super late model event. The race is sanctioned by the CARS Tour. A traveling short track asphalt series. A side-note, the series has developed an old school logo to go along with the event promotion. The new retro CARS Tour logo can be seen below.
