Danica Patrick to Roush Fenway Racing?

She was asked that directly

Danica Patrick will be parting ways from Stewart-Haas Racing at the end of the 2017 NASCAR season. In September, she joined the ever expanding list in NASCAR’s silly season. Aric Almirola was announced as the #10 driver at Stewart-Haas.

UPDATE: Bob Pockrass of ESPN asked team president Steve Newmark about Danica Patrick joining the team. He stated that Danica Patrick will not be joining because the team doesn’t have a spot open

Where will she end up, if anywhere?

Is appears, Roush-Fenway Racing might be an option. Notably, her boyfriend, Ricky Stenhouse Jr currently drives the #17 out of the RFR stable.

Nothing has been confirmed by Danica or the team. However, she was asked and it wasn’t shot down. Danica Patrick comments on a possible move to Roush Fenway Racing:

“Ha, ha, you never know,” Danica Patrick told Kickin’ the Tires with a laugh.

She continued, “I mean, you know, I think that, I think that what’s most important is that you find a spot where you’ve got, you know, you’ve got that potential and you’ve got a group that has passion.”

Roush Fenway Racing currently support two drivers. Ricky Stenhouse Jr drives the #17. Additionally, Trevor Bayne drives the #6.

There is a 3rd car. The #16 charter is currently being leased to JTG Daugherty. The number was changed to #34.

Back in July, Roush Fenway president Steve Newmark spoke on the 2018 plans. He told SiriusXM’s Tradin Paint that Roush Fenway would ‘most likely’ field two MENCS cars and a single Xfinity race.

However, something exciting is coming. Last week, Mike Kelley announced via twitter, “Got some really cool news today, excited about Roush-Fenway future, will address things soon.” He is the downforce program manager for Roush Fenway Racing.

Danica Patrick has already turned down the idea of a NASCAR Xfinity Series ride. Paraphrasing she said that if she doesn’t do cup than she won’t do anything.

RFR has 137 wins in Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series competition. Danica Patrick has run 187 MENCS races. Her first race was the 2012 Daytona 500. She’s collected a total of 7 top 10 runs.
