StarCom Racing acquires NASCAR charter

StarCom Racing has purchased a NASCAR charter for 2018; Derrike Cope is preparing for Daytona

Mooresville, NC – StarCom Racing acquired a NASCAR Charter for the upcoming 2018 MENCS season and will run a full 36-week schedule. SCR, a new team in 2017, led by Team Manager Derrike Cope will hit the track at the Daytona 500 in the 00 Chevy Camaro.

“What a wonderful opportunity it is for our organization to have secured a charter for 2018! We are so excited for Mike, Matt, Bill and Ashley at StarCom Racing for all their patience and generosity in facilitating this to happen,” comments Cope.

“We have a strong and enthusiastic team that are now working with renewed vigor and we can’t wait to start the season,” Cope concluded.

SCR Crew Chief, Tony Furr, and Cope worked relentlessly during the off-season to strengthen the staff and hired experienced personnel to the team. At this time, SCR will continue to explore all driver options with funding opportunities and will choose the best possible fit for the team.

SCR Marketing Director, Elyshia Cope, and the team are actively seeking sponsorship opportunities for the coming season.

SCR ended last season on a positive note with a best 32nd place finish for only its second attempt out on the track. “We are pleased with the progress we have made this off-season to prepare ourselves for the Daytona 500 and 2018 season,” says Matthew Kohler, SCR President.

“Acquiring a Charter for the season has allowed us to escalate our program to the next level, which is a major step for our young team. We are looking forward to bringing top-notch equipment and excitement to the garage,” Kohler concluded.
