Two of the top Dirt Late Model drivers will run for $50,000 to win in a modified this weekend
Farley, Iowa: The officials of the Farley Speedway are proud to present the second annual “Super Modified Weekend” which will be contested on the super fast 3/8 mile dirt track this coming weekend. The Saturday night 50 lap Modified feature will award a whopping $50,000 to the winner.
The weekend will get started early with an open practice on Thursday, May 10th the practice will allow the traveling stars to test and tune their machines. Thursday night will offer a free grandstand and fans will be able to get a sneak peak of what is in store for the weekend.
The practice will get underway at 6:30 pm. Friday night will be a no holds barred night of action packed racing as drivers will be gunning for the coveted first six rows of starting positions for Saturday nights Championship main events. Friday night will include two sets of qualifiers for both the Modifieds and Sportmods.
Drivers will earn finishing position points as well as passing points. When Friday nights action is concluded the top twelve in points in each class will be locked in to the Saturday night Championships. Friday night the action will get underway at 6:30 pm.
Saturday: Saturday night will start off with last chance qualifiers in both classes, the top 16 in each class will qualify bringing the starting fields to 28 drivers. Each class will offer a 29th starting spot through an auction for drivers not locked in. Saturday nights program will then see non-qualifiers features being run before the Championship main events take to the track.
The Sportmods will battle it out for 30 laps for the Championship feature and the Modifieds will headline the program with their 50 lap Championship bringing the second annual “Super Modified Weekend to a close. Saturday nights action is slated to see the first green flag wave at 5:30 pm.
The Sweet Manufacturing “Super Modified Weekend” at the Farley Speedway is truly a national marquee event and drivers from all across the country and Canada have already pre-entered. Two of the nations top Late Model drivers will be on hand challenging the stellar field of accomplished Modified drivers. Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Scott Bloomquist from Tennessee will be joined by Tim McCreadie from New York.
The pre entry list of Modified drivers reads like a who’s who amongst the Modified ranks, A few of the early entrants include, Nebraska’s Jordan Grabouski, Missouri’s Terry Phillips and Hunter Marriott, Wisconsin’s Benjamin Lacrosse, California’s Ethan Dotson, North Dakota’s Jason Willa, Arizona’s Ricky Thornton, New Mexico’s Johnny Scott. Iowa drivers looking to defend their home state are Cory Drips, Kelly Shylock, Justin Kay, Jeff Aiken, Jesse Dennis and many more.
