Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Delmas Conley picks up first win of 2018

Delmas Conley returns to victory lane a week before the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series heads to his home turf

Delmas and Rod Conley both capture $2,000 victories in Buckeye State of Ohio!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Two Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers reached victory lane on Saturday evening, August 25 at two different area ovals! Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Delmas Conley picked up his first win of 2018 at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Delmas won his heat race and later led the majority of the weekly Super Late Model main event to pocket the $2,000 payday ahead of Shannon Thornsberry, Kevin Wagner, Kenneth Howell, and Josh Hall.

At Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio, Rod Conley placed second in his heat race before starting the weekly A-Main from the outside of the second row. “Hot Rod” then wheeled his #71r machine to his sixth victory of the season, as he took the lead late in the feature distance to claim the $2,000 top prize over Billy Gullion, Kody Evans, Greggie Oliver, and Chad Smith.

R.J. Conley, on the other hand, made his way north to Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio on August 24-25 for the inaugural running of the ‘Dirt Million.’ On Friday night, R.J. placed third in his heat race, but later went with a wrong tire selection in the $10,000 to win, 30-lap feature event that helped drop him to sixteenth in the final finishing order.

The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace then finished third in both his heat race and his B-Main on Saturday evening, which unfortunately narrowly kept him out of the 100-lap ‘Dirt Million,’ which paid over $202,000 to the winner.
