NASCAR Practice Report
Duration: 50 minutes
The eight playoff drivers aren’t very active on the track early in this practice session. I’m unsure of their plans. But, this is the only practice session ahead of qualifying later this afternoon.
15 minutes into the opening practice session, Chase Elliott and his team are still working through inspection.
30 minutes to go, Cody Ware is hard in the wall. He lost brakes in turn three.
20 minutes remain, Erik Jones has turned to the most laps in this session at five total. Four of the eight NASCAR Playoff drivers sit inside the top 10 thus far. Kyle Busch sits 2nd on the board.
Erik Jones wins the opening round of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice. Part-time driver, Matt Kenseth sits 8th overall.
