Tonight, the national dirt late model tour lands in Maryville, Tennessee. the 4/10-mile dirt track of Smoky Mountain Speedway hosts the The Big Daddy 60.

32 drivers have unloaded in the pit area of the Tennessee dirt track. $15,000 is on the line for the LOLMDS field at the conclusion of tonight’s dirt racing event.

Heat 1 – Report

Josh Richards and Mike Marlar trial the pace truck ahead of the first heat race of the night. Green, Richards and Marlar run side by side at the line. Owens cuts to the bottom to make it three wide into turn one. Marlar leads off the top of turn two.

Marlar and Richards both head for the top lane. They run nose to tail against the outside wall.

Marlar opens the gap. He takes the win in the first heat race of the night.

Heat 2 – Report

Jonathan Davenport and Shane Clanton set the front row for heat two. Green, Davenport slides from the bottom to the top into turn one. Clanton is coming around the top.

Clanton gets to the right rear of Davenport but Davenport shuts the door off turn two. He makes contact off the corner. Clanton is slow.

Hudson O’Neal slides Davenport to take the lead into turn three as Davenport regains control of his car from contact off turn two.

Several cars pile up behind them, red flag. All drivers are ok. It will be a complete restart. Five cars remain.

Green flag, Hudson O’Neal heads to the top in turn one. He’s clear off turn two.

Heat 3 – Report

Tim McCreadie and Dale McDowell lead them to the flag stand in heat three.

Green, McCreadie leads into turn one. McDowell tags the outside wall. He lifts off the throttle and loses a ton of positions.

Lap 5, McCreadie leads Bronson. Most of the field runs through the middle at the entry to the three.

McCreadie drives off to win heat three.

Heat 4 – Report

Tyler Erb and David Payne head to the starting line in the final heat race of the weekend. Green, Tyler Erb slides them all in turn one.

Erb opens up an early gap. He runs right against the outside wall. Ricky Weiss is working the bottom lane and closing the gap.

Lap 4, Weiss is on the bumper of the leader. He looks inside into turn one. They make door to door contact off turn two. Weiss moves Erb off the bottom lane and he takes the lead into turn three.

Lap 6, car in the wall in turn two. The caution is out.

Green, Weiss leads on the bottom. Erb is exploring lanes.

Weiss drives off to take the win in the final heat race of the weekend!

Main Event – Report

The field is lined up on the short track in the mountains of Tennessee. They form a four wide salute for the packed grandstands.

Mike Marlar and Tim McCreadie set the front row for the main event. Sixty laps of dirt late model racing is up next…

Green, Marlar leads on the bottom. He slides to the top and confirms the position off turn two. Marlar and McCreadie head to the top in turn three.

Hudson O’Neal cuts to the bottom. He moves to 2nd and climbs to the bumper the leader. Marlar and Neal run nose to tail on the bottom back in turn one.

Caution, debris in turn four.

Green, Marlar leads as McCreadie retake’s 2nd.

Lap 8, Hudson O’Neal cuts to the bottom of McCreadie. As they remain side by side, they’re running down the leader.

Lap 10, Marlar slides from the bottom to the top off turn two. O’Neal and McCreadie have a look inside off turn two. Three wide for the lead, Marlar holds the spot.

Lap 14, Hudson O’Neal looks inside of Marlar off turn two once again. Marlar fights back on the outside in turn three.

Marlar has momentum off the top as they race back to turn one. Hudson O’Neal looms inside and Malar shuts the door. Hudson O’Neal is hard on the brakes to avoid the tire barrier. He washes up the banking as the car drops off the bars.

Lap 22, Moran is slow and the caution is back out.

Green, Marlar leads O’Neal off turn two. Owens and Richards are right there with them.

Lap 27, Marlar moves to the top in turn one. O’Neal is running him down on the bottom.

Lap 29, Moran catches the fence in turn one and the caution is back out.

Green, Marlar leads.

Lap 30, Hudson O’Neal is back to the bumper of the leader. He cuts to the bottom in turn three, clear.

Marlar follows Neal on the bottom into turn one. The next lap, he bails on that and goes back to the top.

Richards moves from 5th to 3rd off turn two. He’s also glued to the bottom.

Lap 36, Marlar has a flat tire off turn two. McCreadie and others nearly run over him. The caution is out.

Green, O’Neal leads Richards off turn two. O’Neal opens a gap.

Ricky Weiss has found speed on the top. He’s pressuring Richards fke 2nd. They run side by side as O’Neal drives away.

Lap 45, Weiss completes the pass on the top. The leader of O’Neal is a full straight away ahead but at the tail of the field.

Lap 49, Ryan King has lost power off turn two. The caution is out.
