Ross Chastain picked up the win in the truck race. However, he was disqualified about an hour due to a failed post-race inspection. The team failed the front end ride heights.
Aside from that, there was another set of drama in the truck series event. Johnny Sauter and Austin Hill made contact that resulted in two sets of retaliation.
First Sauter got into the back of Hill heading into turn one. Both nearly crashed but the trucks were saved. Until turn three, Austin Hill drove it deep on the bottom of the track, clipping Sauter in the left rear.
That was retaliation. Sauter was sent backwards up the banking before making heavy contact with the outside wall.
The caution was out but this thing isn’t over. Sauter coasted around on the apron of the track and waited for the pace car and the field to pass him by.
Once Austin Hill passed, Sauter pulled back onto the race track. He lined Hill in his scope and punched the gas.
Hill gased his truck up as well with warning from the spotter but he failed to escape. Under caution, Hill was turned by Sauter. As they slid down the track, Sauter hit the gas again and made contact with the drivers side door.
Two incidents of retaliation. One was during green flag action and the other occurred during the yellow flag.
