On Lap 137, Austin Hill and Johnny Sauter were in a heated battle for the 7th position. This is the second week in a row these two raced hard for position.

As they went into turn one, Sauter caught the rear bumper of Austin Hill. They both wiggled and came close to crashing.

Sauter moved him up the hill and took the position. But, the battle wasn’t.

A half lap later, Hill trailed Sauter by two car lengths into turn three. He erased that gap and close to the rear bumper of Sauter.

Hill aimed for the left rear. He got inside, slid up and clipped Sauter who was sent backwards up the banking and into the fence.

Once again, the battle wasn’t over. Sauter’s day was done due to the damage. But, he still had enough truck to roll around under caution laps.

He waited for Austin Hill to roll buy. Johnny Sauter then got behind him and lined him in the scope.

In the rear view mirror, Austin Hill saw him coming and hit the throttle to try and escape. It was too late.

Sauter nailed Hill on the rear bumper. He turned him around then stepped on the gas again to hit him in the drivers side door as they both slid down the banking.

NASCAR parked Johnny Sauter but he was already done anyway with all the damage. Austin Hill returned to the pit lane for repairs.

“What does he expect,” Austin Hill asked over the radio as he defended his green flag retaliation. He then said that he was looking forward to seeing Sauter after the race.

Sauter stated over the radio that it was the 2nd time he had issues with Hill.

Austin Hill comments on Johnny Sauter

After the race, Hill calmed down as he still managed a 13th place run in the event. However, he’s still not happy with Johnny Sauter.

“I mean, it’s hard to race that guy,” Austin Hill told Fox Sports after the race.

“We were racing hard getting into turn one. He got into me a little bit and I kinda returned the favor.”

“I don’t race like that. So, if you’re going to race me like that and try to take me out — I guess he was mad from Texas last week, I don’t know.”

“But, I’m not going to put up with it and I think you seen that today. I try to race everybody clean. But, when they race you like that, I don’t put up with it.”

The crew got the truck somewhat repaired for the final sixty laps of the race. However, it wasn’t as quick as it was before the incident.

“We had a good truck. We definitely could have finished top 10. I don’t know if we would have had anything for the top 5. They were pretty gone.”

“We’ll just move one. I have better things to worry about than the #13 truck. I’m more focused on the championship, we’re just going to keep working.”

“I mean, if he wants to come talk to me about it, he can. But, it won;t be nice words,” Austin Hill concluded.

Sauter ignored all reporters as he walked to the NASCAR hauler for a conversation with officials.
