Dirt midget race results from the Gateway Nationals
Tonight, it’s night two of the Gateway Dirt Nationals. The 4th annual addition of the indoor dirt race in downtown, St. Louis, Missouri. Group B of the dirt midget entries are set to touch the track for the first time.

The field of dirt midgets has been split in two. Half of the field will race a full program tonight, including a main event.
The other half raced last night. The field will combine for Saturday.
Midget Main – Report
Michael Pickens and Kyle Larson set the front row for the main event.
A $3,000 check is waiting for the winner of the 20 lap race.
Green flag, Pickens gets the jump. He clips the left front of Larson as they head to the line for the first time.
Lap 2, Gio Scelzi is around in turn two and the caution is out.
Green, they run three wide for the lead into turn one. Pickens holds the spot as Swindell moves to 2nd. Larson falls to 3rd.
Lap 5, spin in turn four and the caution is out.
Green, Pickens leads. Larson is all over Swindell for 2nd. Swindell bobbles and Larson moves back to 2nd.
Lap 8, Larson has run down the leader. Swindell spins on his own behind them and the caution is out.
Green, Pickens and Larson both head for the top in turn one. Pickens gets tight, he has to lift as the car won’t turn. Cannon McIntosh has the inside lane wide open, he fills it. Cannon to the lead.
Jonathan Beason clips Pickens and Beason is turned around in front of the field. Beason spins, on the throttle and barrel rolls.
At the same time, Clinton Boyles tries to slid Ricky Stenhouse Jr. He clips him in the bars instead. Boyles is lifted into the air and into a barrel roll.
Two cars flip at once, in two seperate incidents and the red flag is out.
Green, Pickens leads. Larson slices back to 2nd.
5 to go, Larson is running down the rear bumper of the leader. They both enter nose to tail, inches from the wall in turn one.
Larson is there. He gives the middle lane a shot. That doesn’t work and he moves back to the top.
Pickens bobbles through a rut off turn two as they come to 3 to go. Larson has a run on him off turn two.
Larson cuts to the bottom in turn three. He slides him and clear. Larson opens the gap.
Coming to the white, lap cars slow ahead of the leader. Larson has to check up. Pickens does as well. McIntosh comes into the scene, on the gas and takes 2nd away on the final lap.
