I-80 Speedway results from the final night of the $53,000 to win dirt race!
Tonight, the race weekend come to a close at I-80 Speedway. The Silver Dollar Nationals is a two-day show paying $53,000 to the race winner.

The track is a 4/10 mile dirt oval. It’s located near Interstate 80 in Greenwood, Nebraska just outside of Omaha.
18 cars are already locked into the main event based on points earned on Friday night. Everyone else will be looking to fill out the field with transfer spots from a pair of B-Mains.
The field is now set. Ricky Thornton Jr and Jimmy Owens set the front row for the main event. They pull out onto the race track.
The field lines up in a four wide salute for the Nebraska racing fans. 101 laps of dirt late model racing are up next…
Silver Dollar Nationals
Green flag, Owens and Thornton Jr run even into turn one. Owens wins that battle on the outside lane.
Lap 5, Owens drops to the bottom. Ricky Thornton Jr runs side by side with Sheppard for 2nd.
Lap 12, Thornton Jr misses the bottom or it was a slider that didn’t work. Either way, Sheppard clears him on the outside of turn two.
Lap 14, Owens works heavy lap traffic. Sheppard has closed to his bumper.
Lap 15, Earl Pearson Jr is slow and the caution is out.
Green, Owens stumbles on the cushion into turn one. Both Sheppard and Thornton Jr look inside of him into turn one. They run three wide for the lead in turn two. Owens holds them off on the outside.
Lap 23, Owens zigs in and out of lap traffic. Sheppard is in pursuit.
Lap 37, Owens works to the right rear of the lap car of Colton Horner off turn two. The lap car pinches him and they rub fenders as Owens is nearly pushed into the outside wall. Owens checks up but he holds the lead.
This will be the fuel stop. The cars are stopped on the front stretch as crews add fuel only.
Green, Owens is slow into turn one yet again. Sheppard and Erb pounce. They run three wide for the lead once more off turn two. Owens holds the spot.
Car around in turn four. The caution is out.
Green, Owens leads as they run three wide for 2nd. Tyler Erb to 2nd.
Erb drives it deep on the bottom into turn one. He pulls ahead of Owens but can’t clear him off the corner.
Back in turn one, Erb slides Owens for the lead. This time it sticks, Erb leads.
Lap 50, Bobby Pierce started this race in 28th. He’s now just outside the top 10, glued to the cushion and moving forward. He’s the defending winner if this event.
Lap 55, Ben Schaller is slow and the caution is out.
Green, Erb leads. Owens and Chad Simpson battle for 2nd. Simpson completes the pass on the bottom.
Lap 60, Pierce has a flat tire! He just cracked the top 10. The caution is back out!
Green, Erb leads. He runs a defensive line off turn two as he washed up in the middle of the corner. Simpson has a run but not enough to make a run into turn three.
Lap 64, Owens is slow and the caution is out! Owens is out if the race.
Green, Simpson works to the right rear of Erb off turn two. They run even into turn three but Simpson has the momentum off the top. Chad Simpson to the lead!
Lap 70, Bronson is slow and the caution is back out.
Green, Simpson leads. Ricky Thornton Jr clears Sheppard for 2nd.
20 to go, Simpson leads as Sheppard rolls the cushion and retakes 2nd. Tim McCreadie has climbed to 4th. Bloomquist was one of the first cars to mske a pit stop, he’s climbed back into 10th.
14 to go, the leaders race through lap traffic. Simpson is rolling the bottom. Behind him, Sheppard is knocking the cushion and coming in a hurry.
They split lap traffic and Sheppard clears him off turn four! Sheppard leads.
5 to go, Sheppard is driving away.
