6,000 fans are on the grounds today. It’s a double-header race weekend and another 6,000 will be on the grounds for Sunday.

Race Report
Green flag, Power leads into turn one. Josef Newgarden takes 2nd away.
Lap 2, Simon Pagenaud is around after contact with Rinus VeeKay. Pagenaud jumped the curb and bounced into VeeKay.
Lap 7, Herta and VeeKay both run off into the grass and Dixon capitalizes. Scott Dixon has gained five positions since his 17th place starting spot.
Lap 15, Power leads Newgarden by 3 seconds.
Lap 21, Newgarden pits from 2nd. Power pits on the next lap. These are the cars that started with the softer red tires. Cars on the black sets will stay out slightly longer.
Lap 26, Will Power is stuck behind VeeKay for 5th. At the front, Alexander Rossi has yet to pit but he’s running a half second quicker than Power.
Scot Dixon gets into the back of Herta as he re-enters the track.
Lap 28, the pit cycle is complete. Power leads Newgarden by 2.8 seconds.
Halfway
Lap 43, Power leads Newgarden by 4.6 seconds. Alexander Rossi is all over Hunter-Reay for 3rd.
Lap 47, Marco Andretti runs wide after brake lockup. He’s off in the grass but re-enters, no caution. Newgarden hits the pit lane under green from 2nd. Rossi makes the pass on Hunter-Reay in the pit cycle.
Lap 48, Will Power is on the pit lane for the final time.
Lap 51, Herta pits and Power cycles back to the race lead. Newgarden trails by 7 seconds.
15 to go, Power continues to drive away. He leads Newgarden by 9 seconds. Scot Dixon has yet to crack the top 10, this is likely to be a tough day for the point leader.
8 to go, dark clouds have surrounded the complex. Rain is in the area but it’s not on track just yet.
2 to go, water has appeared lightly on the windshield of the race leader.
