Dale Earnhardt car / RCR NASCAR chassis No.1 heading to auction

This week, a car claiming to be a race winner and the first NASCAR chassis built by Richard Childress Racing is heading to auction
A race car claiming to be driven by Dale Earnhardt is a part of the large Michael T Collection which is currently running in an auction for the next two weeks.
The car claims to have been built on September 4, 1991 as a Chevrolet Lumina. It was used as a short track car for Dale Earnhardt.

Dale Earnhardt won 76 races at the NASCAR Cup Series level. This car claims to be one of those winners. In it’s second time on the track the chassis grabbed the win in the September 1991 race at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
Currently, the car features a Chevrolet Monte Carlo body. The current owner states the car was switched to the new body after it’s on-track life concluded during the winter of 1994.
In 1995, the car became a show car. It was used in the filming of a Burger King commercial.
Former auctions/Documents on the latest Earnhardt car for sale
A Dale Earnhardt race car is rare. Why? NASCAR team owner Richard Childress built his own museum. Very few Earnhardt machines were sold, most of them went directly into the museum.
Childress has previously stated that only a few of the earlier Earnhardt machines were sold. Earnhardt started racing for the team full-time in 1984.
Recently, many NASCAR machines have surfaced at various auctions. A year ago, many Dale Earnhardt machines came in question as Richard Childress stated some of the very cars claimed in the auction were sitting in his Richard Childress Racing Museum, indicating they were fake machines.
Just a few months back, a car claiming to be the first Dale Earnhardt Inc. chassis appeared at the auction. The car was a NASCAR Busch Series car with a Dale Earnhardt Jr body. Dale Jr himself commented on his confusion regarding the listing.
However, this particular NASCAR race car comes with documents to support some claims.
The documents show a sales agreement with the signature of an RCR employee. The document lists the car as the “#2 Prototype 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Winston Cup Race Car.”
RCR chassis no. 1 is expected to collect $75,000-$150,000 at the auction. The car is in lot J190 of the Kissimmee 2021 auction which runs from January 7-16.
