Sheldon Creed frustrated with Ben Rhodes after Daytona Road Course

Ben Rhodes, “I don’t know what his problem is but he can get over it.”

On Friday night, the NASCAR Truck Series went into triple overtime on the Daytona Road Course. Ben Rhodes claimed the win to the frustration of Sheldon Creed.

Rear comments from Rhodes and Creed after the race below.

Multiple times, Creed and Rhodes were side by side for the lead. At one point, Rhodes pulled alongside into turn six, Creed then pinched him so much that it pushed Rhodes’ right side wheels into the grass.

But, we still had several restarts to go…

All night long, trucks were struggling to get into turn one on restarts. Late in the race, Creed wheel hopped into the corner. Rhodes then amplified the situation by getting into his rear bumper, slightly.

Ben Rhodes won last week and now he has back to back wins at Daytona. 2 for 2 on the season.

Sheldon Creed on Ben Rhodes

“Yeah, I was actually not very happy with that,” Sheldon Creed said after the race.

“I felt like I passed him for the lead very cleanly, left him room and then gave him respect. Then, he just drove into me into [turn] 1 on the restart.”

“I’ll remember that down the road when we’re racing hard again. He might be on the other end of that deal.”

Creed concluded, “Frustrated to run 2nd, I guess.”

Ben Rhodes responds to Sheldon Creed

“Yeah, I’m gonna choose my words carefully here for Sheldon,” Rhodes responded.

“I’m not exactly sure what he meant by that. Because the guy did try to run me, on the straight away, off of the race track.”

“So, I don’t know exactly what he means by that. We’re all slipping and sliding, out of control in turn 1.”

“Two times down the chute from turns 3 to 4 he tried to run me off the track. Then, he did it [on the straight] from 5 to 6.”

“Let’s not forget that at Eldora in 2019, the guy did door slam me into the wall and total a truck at Eldora, for 7th place.”

“This is a win. I didn’t total his truck out nor did I wreck him. So, I don’t know what his problem is but he can get over it.”
