Justin Allgaier to run Dale Earnhardt throwback

JR Motorsports will field the Tasmanian Devil throwback

Justin Allgaier is set to run a throwback scheme to the late Dale Earnhardt. The scheme is near identical to the red and black scheme that touched the track over 20 years ago.

Allgaier and JR Motorsports released the Good Humor machine. The car will be run at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.

The JR Motorsports logo on the rear decklid is similar to the GM Goodwrench logo. The shape of the GoodHumor decal is in a similar shape to the Tasmanian Devil cartoon character.

Dale Earnhardt ran a similar scheme in the 2000 Daytona 500. The car was sponsored by GM Goodwrench Service/Tasmanian Devil.

Photos from 2000 are hard to come by. Here’s an image of the diecast from 2000.

Earnhardt Jr also ran a similar scheme back in 2002.

The paint scheme will make it’s return on May 8, 2021 at Darlington Raceway via the NASCAR Xfinity Series event.

Allgaier has 11 career starts at Darlington Raceway. He has a best finish of 3rd and an average finish of 10th.
