Shane van Gisbergen will have a new crew chief in 2027
Blake Harris is the current crew chief on the No. 48 car with driver Alex Bowman. He’s worked with Bowman since the start of the 2023 season.
As a crew chief, he’s sat atop the pit box for 172 Cup Series races. He has collected one win in the role which came back in 2024 with Bowman.
The current driver of the No. 48 is entering his last full-time season. Bowman is set to retire following the 2027 season. Connor Zilisch will take over the seat in the 2028 season.
Harris will leave the team after this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He has signed a new deal with Trackhouse Racing.
He’ll now be paired with Shane van Gisbergen for 2027. Stephen Doran is the current crew chief for the No. 97 team at Trackhouse and he’s been in that role since the start of the 2025 season.
The new crew chief for the No. 48 entry has not been announced.
