Dirt Late Model drivers battled for a purse of over $100,000
Tonight, it’s night one of two in Mineral Wells, WV. Dirt late models have unloaded at the 5/8-mile dirt track of West Virginia Motor Speedway for the Historic 100.

Throwback paint schemes are encouraged. If a driver wins Saturday’s A-Main in a throwback paint scheme then they’ll earn an extra $5,000. A total of $100,000 is up for grabs over the next two days.
For Friday night’s program, $10,000 is up for grabs. Jonathan Davenport and Devin Moran line up on the front row. 40 laps of dirt late model racing are up next…
Green flag, Davenport and Moran run even into turn one. Davenport drives it deep into the corner on the throttle. He slides across the nose of Moran. Moran loses the nose in dirty air and runs up the track into the loose stuff. Davenport leads as GR Smith takes 2nd.
Lap 3, Dave Hilton spins and the caution is out.
Green, Davenport is clear into turn one. Moran follows him through to retake 2nd.
Lap 4, GR Smith knocks a rut in turn three and nearly rolls it.
Lap 5, Ryan Montgomery catches the wall in turn one, caution.
Green, Davenport leads into turn one. Moran and Smith runs side by side for 2nd. Moran drives it deep to the bottom and slides Smith to hold 2nd.
Corey Conley gets tangled behind them back in turn one, caution.
Green, Davenport leads into turn one. Ed Shuman and and Dustin Sprouse tangle back in turn one, caution.
Green, Davenport leads and Moran follows him through on the outside lane.
Lap 20, Davenport has caught the tail of the field.
Lap 25, Davenport slows in lap traffic as Todd Brennan catches a flat just ahead of him. Davenport closes the gap from 6 car lengths to 2. Caution as Brennan slows.
Green, Davenport leads Moran on the single file restart. Gregg Satterlee has a run on Tyler Erb into turn one, Satterlee to 3rd.
10 to go, Davenport leads Moran by 1 second.
8 to go, Davenport and Moran are both glued to the cushion. Moran is closing slightly but Satterlee is the fastest car on the track in 3rd.
4 to go, Devin Moran jumps the cushion in turn one! He pounds the wall and the caution is out.
Green, Davenport leads Satterlee by 2 car lengths into turn one. Satterlee hangs with him but Davenport opens the gap slightly.
