Kasey Kahne to run full World of Outlaws tour

Kasey Kahne returns to the dirt tracks full-time

Following the 2018 season, Kasey Kahne abruptly departed his NASCAR career. After 15 years in the sport, he cited health issues for his early departure.

With short races and an open cockpit, sprint cars don’t hinder Kahne. The door swung wide open for his to return to the dirt.

Last year, Kahne tagged onto the last few months of the WoO tour. He drove to the Roth Motorsports No. 83 machine but missed the first portion of the schedule.

For 2022, Kahne will load into the full-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series tour. He’ll do it out of his own shop.

Kahne has partnered with Brad Sweet and will form a two-car team our of the Kasey Kahne Racing shop.

Kasey Kahne comments on 2022 plans

“I’ve realized through my commitments as a team owner that I still want to race and challenge myself at this level,” Kahne said. “I am grateful to have propelled into the NASCAR ranks as quickly as I did, but sprint car racing has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, and this is the first chance I’ve had to dedicate myself to it full-time.”

The driver made his World of Outlaws debut back in 1997. He then stepped into the world of NASCAR. Soon after, he formed his own sprint car team in 2005.

Kahne has entered 140 World of Outlaws features. However, he’s never run full-time on the tour.

“The World of Outlaws puts the top competitors in the sport with the most grueling schedule; traveling to tracks nationwide, night-in and night-out,” Kahne added. “A lot of people don’t realize this is one of the toughest Series in the world, and I’m excited to finally be a part of it as a driver.”

Karavan Trailers will return as the primary sponsor of the No. 9 machine.
