Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 20 (1-20/82)

Green flag, they run side by side into turn one. Byron noses ahead into turn two and cuts down, clear of Gibbs by inches to take the inside lane away up the hill. Gibbs stalls ans Allmendinger takes 2nd away.

Lap 3, Gibbs has a run on Allmendinger up the hill. He dives inside as they roll into the bus stop, Gibbs takes 2nd away.

Lap 5, Justin Allgaier is slicing through the field. He looks to the outside up the hill and he gets loose! Allgaier is in the wall and the caution is out!

Green, Gibbs and Byron run side by side through turn one and up the hill. Byron narrowly clears him into the bus stop to hold the lead. Myatt Snider and Jeb Burton tangle behind them, no caution.

Lap 11, Gibbs has a run into turn 6. He dives inside and clears him, Gibbs to the lead.

Lap 16, Spencer Gallagher has stalled and the caution is out.

Gibbs, Byron and most of the leaders head for the pit lane. Allmendinger and 9 others stay out.

Green, Sammy Smith clears Allmendinger into turn one!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 20 (21-40/82)

Smith stays out as Byron cycles back to the front row.

Green flag on stage two, Sammy Smith leads into turn one as Byron and Larson run side by side for 2nd. Larson takes 2nd away. Larson gets into the bumper of Smith out of the bus stop, he outbrakes him into turn six, Larson to the lead.

Lap 26, Byron has a run on Larson into turn one. He looks to the outside and drives right by, Byron to the lead.

Lap 28, Alex Labbe bounces off the wall and stalls in the bus stop. The caution is out.

Green, Larson and Byron rub doors into turn one. Byron clears him into turn two to hold the lead.

Lap 31, Kris Wright has stalled, caution.

Green, Byron clears Larson into turn two. Sheldon Creed works alongside Larson, Creed outbrakes Larson into the bus stop, Creed takes 2nd away.

Lap 39, Ty Gibbs has a run on Creed into turn one. Gibbs takes 2nd away. Cole Custer gets turned out of the bus stop. Brandon Jones is around in turn 7, no caution.

William Byron wins stage two at WGI!

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 42 (41-82/82)

Byron stays out with most of the leaders. Creed pits from 6th.

Green flag on stage three, Gibbs and Byron run side by side through turn one. Byron barely clears him into turn two and he shuts the door, Byron holds the lead.

Lap 52, William Byron pits from the lead as Gibbs follows him to the pit lane. Slow stop for Byron and Gibbs wins the race to the pit exit.

Lap 56, Byron has a run off turn 7. He works along side into turn one. They remain side by side up the hill and Gibbs holds him off.

Lap 58

Lap 58, Daniel Hemric has found the tire barrier in turn 5! The pit cycle isn’t complete as Gibbs runs 10th.

Pit lane is open, Gibbs and the rest of the cars that have already pitted stay out. Ty Gibbs cycles to the race lead.

Green, Byron and Gibbs run side by side into turn one. They remain side by side into turn two, Gibbs pinches him down and Byron loses momentum with a narrow entry. Larson slides by to take 2nd as Gibbs leads.

14 to go, Byron retakes 2nd. Gibbs leads by 1.1 seconds.

8 to go, Ross Chastain is stuck in the sand and the caution is out.

Green, Byron and Gibbs both run wide out of turn two. They run side by side up the hill as Larson gives a bump draft to Byron. They remain side by side into the bus stop. Gibbs jumps the curb and into the door of Byron. They both spin! Kyle Larson takes over the lead!

Byron spins Gibbs as both drivers refire but are at the back of the pack.

3 to go, Larson leads Allmendinger by a car length.

2 to go, Sammy Smith joins the battle as three cars run nose to tail for the win into turn one.

1 to go, Larson leads Allmendinger by a car length into turn one. Larson jumps the curb in the bus stop harder than he has all day. All four wheels off the ground but he holds the lead.

Kyle Larson holds him off and wins at Watkins Glen International!
