On Saturday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series took the green on the half-mile paperclip of Martinsville Speedway. The final playoff elimination race ended with a load of drama and a fight.

Ty Gibbs and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate worked together for about 240 of the 250 laps. If they shared the front row on a restart, the inside car would purposely stall the start, let the outside car drop down and lead into turn one.
With 10 laps to go, the teammate thing went out the window. Brandon Jones shoves Ty Gibbs into turn one. He then tagged him in the right rear, Jones took the lead away.
A caution came out and sent the race into overtime. This time, Gibbs shoved Jones up the banking, retaking the lead.
Another caution came out sending it into Overtime two. Gibbs drove into the rear bumper of Jones once more. This time, Gibbs took the lead away but they crashed behind them.
As they went green in Overtime number three, Jones shoves Gibbs into turn one. He went up the track and Jones took the lead once more.
Jones led at the white flag and he took a defensive narrow entry into turn one. However, Gibbs lined up directly with his rear bumper. Under braking, Gibbs drove into the rear bumper of Jones and sent him around, before they got into the corner.
Jones backed it hard into the outside wall as Gibbs drove to the win at Martinsville Speedway.
“That was a good teammate right there,” they stated over the radio of the No. 19 car.
As Gibbs climbed from the car on the front stretch he was met with a wave of boos.
“I definitely didn’t want to wreck him but I wanted to get him out of the groove,” Ty Gibbs said as he fought with the noise from the grandstands behind him.
Gibbs added, “I felt like we lost the Spring race in the same way. I’m just pumped to get this win.”
