NASCAR penalty report from Las Vegas Motor Speedway: Four penalties issued
Over the weekend, the 1.5-mile of Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosted the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series. The race brought drama early as Bubba Wallace retaliated on Kyle Larson then walked over and pushed him several times.

On lap 95, Kyle Larson pulled a slide job on Kevin Harvick and Bubba Wallace. He was able to clear Harvick but Wallace hung onto his outside. As Larson ran wide off turn four, he crowded Wallace.
No contact was made. However, Wallace got into the wall due to the angle he was forced to take off the corner.
After bouncing off the wall, Wallace turned hard left. He remained full throttle until he tagged Larson in the right rear. Larson was hooked through the tri-oval at a high rate of speed. Both drivers slammed the wall and were out of the race as a result of the retaliation.
The No. 45 driver initially stated that it wasn’t retaliation and that his steering was broken. In an apology issued Monday, he backtracked on that.
As the cars sat parked on the frontstretch, both drivers were able to climb from their machines. Wallace then walked over to Larson with his hands in the air. Wallace then shoved Larson into his own car. He pushed him several more times as Larson attempted to walk away.
Following the altercation, a NASCAR official attempted to guide Wallace to the ambulance, per protocol. The official put his hands in front of Wallace but Wallace pushed his hands away and continued walking across the infield. He walked to the infield care center by foot.
Wallace is found in violation of Sections 4.3.A as well as 4.4.C & E. He’s been suspended as noted in the NASCAR penalty report issued Tuesday afternoon.
Rule 4.4.C: The section noted “intentionally wrecking or spinning another vehicle, whether or not that vehicle is removed from Competition as a result.”
William Byron was also recently penalized for on-track retaliation on Denny Hamlin. However, that didn’t result in a suspension.
Sections: (10.5.2.6.D) Loss or separation of an improperly installed tire/wheel from the vehicle.
Penalty Type: Safety
Penalty: Crew chief Ben Beshore, crew members Derrell Edwards and Miachel Hicks are suspended for the next four races.
