Earlier this week, we lost Kyle Busch. The NASCAR legend was scheduled to drive the No. 7 NASCAR Truck Series machine at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch’s cause of death clarified by the family

Corey Day climbed into the seat, with the name ‘Busch’ remaining on the back windshield of the Spire Motorsports machine. He started from the pole position after Busch went to victory lane in the truck last weekend at Dover Motor Speedway.

On Lap 47, Day threw a block on Rio Ruggiero off turn two. He was hooked in the left rear and turned backwards.

With the car rolling backwards at a high rate of speed, the air lifted the rear spoiler. All four wheels were off the ground and the truck looked to be on a path over the wall.

The truck came back to Earth just in time to slam the inside wall, driver’s side. The No. 7 bounced back across the track into oncoming traffic.

The medical team was quick to the scene. Day was able to climb out under his own power.

Gio Ruggiero stated over the team radio, “I don’t know what you want me to do there?”

The team responded, “I don’t want you to do anything, stupid block.”

Day was taken to the infield care center.

Corey Day comments

“The No. 17 just got a big run there off of two,” Corey Day told FOX Sports after exiting the care center.

“He started to shade down. So, I shaded with him. Then, he shaded back up and that was it.”

“My spotter didn’t do anything wrong. He told me he was there. I just thought I was clear and I wasn’t.”

“I hate it for the No. 7 guys. This is exactly what I didn’t want to do today. I feel terrible.”

The race is currently ongoing.
