NASCAR penalty report following championship weekend at Phoenix Raceway

Phoenix Raceway just hosted NASCAR’s championship weekend. The 1-mile oval brought an end to the 2022 season.

For the championship contenders, engines and cars are torn down at the track by officials. All champions cleared tech without issues.

There was one exception. Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race winner and champion was found with one loose lug nut in post race inspection.

Penalty: Crew chief ( Chris Gayle ) has been fined $5,000.
