ARCA Racing driver suspended after intentional crash (Video)

Sean Hingorani was a lap down as he crashed his 2nd place running teammate at Mid-Ohio

Over the weekend, the ARCA Menards Series raced at Mid-Ohio. We saw drama unfold between teammates and now a suspension has been issued.

Hear from ARCA Racing on the penalty below.

Sean Hingorani is a 16-year-old racing driver from California. He races for Venturini Motorsports and was teammates with Dean Thompson for the event.

With 8 laps to go in the second to last corner, Sean Hingorani leaned on the rear bumper of teammate Dean Thompson in the battle for the lead. Hingorani worked inside of him but he was now on the outside for the very next corner.

As they ran side by side for the lead into the final turn on the track, Thompson elected to miss the apex, run wide and shove Hingorani off in the grass. Hingorani dropped from racing for the lead to the tail of the field.

Thompson later last the lead. And on the final lap, he was running in 2nd with pressure from behind for the position.

Meanwhile, Hingorani was now a lap down and rolling slow around the track. He appeared to be waiting for Thompson to come back around.

And, when Thompson attempted to lap Hingorani, the #15 driver of Hingorani turned left and shoved both cars off in the sand. Thompson climbed from his car and walked across the sand to have a quick chat with Hingorani as he remained in his car.

Neither car finished the race. And now, the ARCA Menards Series has elected to suspended Hingorani.
