NASCAR Inspection Issues: 5 teams penalized (Daytona)

Five NASCAR Xfinity Series teams penalized ahead of Daytona International Speedway

Daytona International Speedway is set to host the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. On Thursday, NASCAR Xfinity Series teams rolled through tech inspection, five have been penalized.

Ryan Sieg failed inspection three times. Per the rules, he will not be permitted to qualify. He’ll also start at the tail of the field in addition to serving a drive-through penalty at the start of the race.

Jordan Anderson also failed inspection after multiple attempts. Anderson also wont be permitted to qualify. He’ll start at the tail of the field and serve a pass-through at the start of the race.

Parker Retzlaff, Justin Allgaier and Jeb Burton suffered a similar situation. Both cars will start at the tail of the field. They’ll also serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.

All five teams lose pit selection for next weekend’s race at Darlington Raceway.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will qualifying on Friday, without practice. The series will take the green flag in the race on Friday night.

2 Failures
Crew member of NASCAR’s choosing ejected (crew member cannot be replaced). Additionally, the team loses pit selection.

3 Failures
Not permitted to qualify plus above penalty. They also have to serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.
